Summer Movie Round-up

THOR:  needed more smashing, less yacking.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS:   first class indeed.

GREEN LANTERN: not bad, not amazing, would have loved it when I was 15

CAPTAIN AMERICA:  best of the comic book films for the summer, not quite Batman Begins or Iron Man.

HARRY POTTER:  not as good as the previous, not as bad as the one before

COWBOYS AND ALIENS:  next time, more Keith Carradine.

  1. I'll agree with Thor and X-Men.

Waiting on Green Lantern to hit the dollar theater before I check it out.

Captain America, I thought was as good as Iron Man. It sucked me in nearly enough to get me to watch a second time.

Harry Potter, I haven't seen, and won't see until I watch all the rest of the series, in order.

Cowboys and Aliens. Keith Carradine could've added a lot to the movie. It didn't have enough crazy in it. I think the film just missed being absolutely fantastic by a narrow margin.

I'm headed to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes tomorrow, and I'm eagerly awaiting it sparking another one of Dave's Ape Episodes.

  2. Planet of the Apes is probably one of the best movies I've watched in the theater this year. Having watched all the old movies, and being a moderate fan of all of them, it was a lot of fun watching all the references and lines that they snuck into the movie.
